It is November 1st and I am already 100% positive that I hate cold/flu season with babies. Both Birk and Addy have now had the 'crud' (Birk more than Addy), but none the less. They both are fighting it off, or have fought it off, but I am exhausted. I'm tired to sucking snot out of their noses, giving breathing treatments and administering medications. HOWEVER, with that said...I'm so thankful that they are doing as well as they are. Both of them are up against the odds. Being born so early and having under developed lungs makes it very hard for them to fight infections of this kind. My babies are the best!!!

While they are strong fighters and doing so good..I do have to say that I will be SO THANKFUL when this season is over. They will be bigger and stronger and at that point we can hopefully stay healthy for a substantial amount of time. I have always said I do not want to wish time away with these two. While I know I will look back some day and wish for them to be babies again, I do want then to be healthier and stronger.

Here's hoping for a very mild winter, fast moving cold/flu season and some much needed rest for our little family!

What I will miss... and what I won't miss.

So we've been blogging on our babyhomepages site, but I decided that I wanted to create a more specialized site for our family and not just for the twins progress! I'm sure I'll use this site to share events that happen with our family, thoughts that go through my mind on a day to day basis and any other things I feel are worthy of this blog! :-)

So my first blog post!!! What to say? I could give you an update on the twins, but that wouldn't take long at all. They are both doing great. Eating well, growing and SO MUCH fun to be around. They smile at us, laugh when tickled and love music and books. The joys of parenting. I often think about a year from now or even 5 years and how I'm going to feel. Will I miss the sleepless nights? Will I miss the worry that comes with being the parents of 2 very small babies? I will! I will miss every moment. I remind myself everyday to cherish what I have.

What I won't miss from these stages is the following. Spit up on EVERY outfit. Going to work with vomit, urine or poop on my clothes. Changing 25+ diapers a day (on a good day), and the #1 thing I will not washing 800 bottles twice a day. :-)

Don't get me wrong, however. Being a Mom is the greatetst most rewarding thing I have ever done. It comes with so much extra (some I don't like ... as I mentioned above), but the good far outweighs the bad. Birk and Addy are amazing and hopefully through this blog you can come to see how great they make our little family!
