Day 3 Update #3

Birk is resting comfortably now.  We went ahead and up'd his dose of Morphine and then about 20 minutes ago the Resident made the decision to give him another dose of "Roc" (?).  Roc is a muscle relaxer that almost paralyzes the patient.  It is helping him rest and not flail around.  My worry was if we were giving him TOO MUCH sedation.  Earlier today his BP dropped a great deal and the Resident at that time made the comment that we just don't want him too sedated.  Right now it is more important that he is resting comfortably and all the necessary tubes and equipment are kept in place.  I felt much better hearing that.

For anyone reading this blog please know your comments, thoughts, and prayers are much appreciated.  It is helping us get through when we get the chance to read them.  (it is also helping with those moments of sheer boredom we are experiencing at times).

For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace... (1 Corinthians 14:33)
