One thing that we've been discussing quite a bit in our house is our "new normal." It seems so surreal to us that we are even home at this point, but that we don't have to take a suctioner everywhere we go, Birk doesn't need a trache tie change every day, we might not get too much more nursing coverage and that our lives will return to normal (well, semi-normal) after this week. While it is sad to think about not being around the kids all the time any longer I'm excited to get back to reality. Nick went back to work this morning and I return next Monday. I'm excited for Birk to start daycare full time (not exciting about paying for it though... :-) ). Thanks to everyone who has helped us get to this point. It is a good feeling.
